Alice Chalmers is a new SPEC playground in San Francisco designed by Groundworks Office. The playground features a Lappset Cubic along with peripheral components by Berliner Seilfabrik. This is one of 13 playgrounds in SF to be built through the Let’sPlaySF! campaign.

A boy named Achyuth dreamed of a place where all of his friends of different abilities could play together. This all-abilities playground was built in honor and memory of Achyuth. This playground has been named “Achyuth’s Sunshine Playground.”

KilldeEr Park

Killdeer Park is tucked away in a quiet neighborhood in Foster City. BCI Burke brought many features to this playground including a rolling slide, two tall viper slides, KidForce spinner chairs, monkey bars, a two-person swing and climbing ropes. Berliner designed the three dimensional IKO climbing net, where climbers can improve their climbing skills.

Farragut Park

Farragut Park is one of our 7 playgrounds in Foster City! This playground opened Feb. 2020 featuring a Burke playground with beautiful Solis Hue Toppers that radiate color onto the ground below. This park is perfect for any little climber. There are several climbers including a plexus climber, apex rope climber, and a taktiks climber. This playground also features swings, a shaded picnic area and slides.

Lappset’s Cloxx is at the Britton Court Apartments, a Mercy Housing unit. This structure is perfect for small spaces. Cloxx stands up to extreme weather conditions with low maintenance. Mercy Housing is one of the largest and most affordable low-income housing non-profit orgs. They participate in renovating and developing program-enriched housing, alleviating poverty in a place where people can thrive and develop to their full potential.

Morgan Autism Center

The Morgan Autism Center is a school catering to students and adults on the autism spectrum and with other developmental disabilities. The Morgan Autism Center offers individualized programs for people with needs that are not met by existing school programs.

SPEC has partnered with Percussion play to bring a musical installation to the Morgan Autism Center. Music is a way for people with autism and other developmental disabilities to connect and communicate with others in a different way. Music therapy has intrinsic reward value, stimulates both brain hemispheres, and supports cognitive activity, allowing therapeutic aid to those who can benefit from it.
